Playing With Light & Mirrors, Kids Science At Home

Tonight we played around with reflecting light.  Xander has done these activities at Science Museums and with a couple of computer games, but I thought it would be fun to play around at home.

These mirrors are from the dollar store.  I bought four, but I think I will pick up a couple more because it's amazing how many you can get into action!
You really need a good light source. Xander experimented to find the best sources via fixture lights, flashlights etc.

We decided on targets around the room to hit with light. We created targets that were around the corner into the dining room. He also bounced light out to a hallway mirror. this was so fun and challenging.

Xander was explaining to us how he was setting up the mirrors. He was reflecting the light from over the sink.

Making a few adjustments

There it is!
This was really simple to do but tons of fun. We moved the mirrors in different rooms around the house to experiment.
